QUIKTALK COMMUNICATIONS SOFTWARE
ReadMe File
Version 2.1
August 21, 1987
Thank You!
By obtaining and using QuikTalk, you are helping to promote the
ShareWare concept - that is the distribution and support of
quality software for a nominal price.
What is QuikTalk?
QuikTalk is a communications software package designed or those
who need an easy to use but powerful way to call other computer
systems by using a modem. Quiktalk's simple menus make the task
of calling a BBS (Bulletin Board System) or other service such as
Compuserve a matter of a few keystrokes instead of the long
complicated process many other packages force you into.
What you will need to run Quiktalk.
-----------------------------------
1. IBM compatible computer.
2. DOS 2.0 or higher.
3. 300 - 19,200 baud Hayes compatible modem.
4. Phone line.
QuikTalk Features.
------------------
Easy to use Lotus Style Menus (I admit it, it even has the
look and feel, so sue me,Lotus)
Ansi Color Graphic terminal emulation
300 - 19,200 baud setting
Shell to DOS feature
Xon/Xoff, CRC/Checksum XModem, YModem Protocol File Transfers.
Auto Logon scripting
Command Key option instead of menus
Much, Much more.
What you should have.
---------------------
If you received the complete package, on diskette or in an ARC
file these are the files that you should have.
1. QuikTalk.Com - The executable program.
2. QuikInst.Com - The installation program.
3. QuikRead.Me - This read me file.
4. QuikTalk.Cnf - The configuration file created by QuikInst.
5. QuikTalk.Dir - A file made by QuikTalk that holds phone #'s.
6. QuikTalk.Doc - The QuikTalk Users Manual.
How To Begin.
--------------
1. If you have a hard disk, place the files in a separate
subdirectory. If not, copy the files to a separate
diskette.
2. Run the program QuikInst, and answer all the questions it
asks about your equipment. If you find that you answered
wrongly, just run QuikInst again.
3. Make sure your modem is connected and turned on.
4. Run QuikTalk!
The operation of Quiktalk is simple, but please refer to the
manual for any questions that arise.
If you need to contact the author, Don Pearsall, you may do so by
EasyPlex on Compuserve user #76656,347. If you still have
questions please call (503) 293-0958.
